Protecting and Preserving Black Lake and the Surrounding Watershed

Status of the Kebler and Tower Dam

The Black Lake Association has been invited to a meeting in mid-February 2017 in order to review the results of, The Feasibility Study of the Removal of the Kebler and Tower Dam. These dams are both located on the upper Black River.  The study was conducted by a group of graduate students from the University of Michigan.  These students were in our area interviewing property owners throughout the summer.  They also personally interviewed some of our Board of Directors for their input.

The meeting will be attended by representatives from the Black Lake Association, Five Tribes, Tip of the Mitt, Huron Pines, DNR, Sturgeon for Tomorrow, and other interested parties.  The actual date has not yet been determined. We will update this site as necessary.
