Alverno Dam Notice

The Black Lake Association was notified by the owners of the Alverno Dam, that they will not be making repairs on the dam this year. The lake will now be lowered, as usual, in November, to its normal winter level. According to president of the Black Lake Association, Brett Trepanier, they started the lowering process but all the rain we received kept the lake level up, now by time they get it lowered it will be too cold to do the repairs. As we get more information, we will post.

Alverno Dam Drawdown

According to Ron Dulak of the Black Lake Association, the Alverno Dam will start its normal winter drawdown on October 1, 2016, rather than November 15, 2016. The water will be lowered 2 1/2 feet, the normal winter draw down.  The dam owners are planning on doing some concrete work on the dam prior to the winter season.  They are sorry for any inconvenience.
