2023 Drone Shoreline Survey
The drone shoreline survey analysis that the Black Lake Association commissioned was completed in March 2024 by Ron Reimink, Freshwater Solutions, LLC and Kelsey Froelich, Good Harbor Bay Watershed Biologist. The survey provides a comprehensive video mapping of the entire Black Lake shoreline, analysis of its various features, and comparisons of results to those of other northern Michigan Lakes. This baseline report identifies areas of concern that may need intervention. The survey identified nine sites with potential invasive plants on shore. We will contact property owners to assist in confirming the status of potential invasives and help with removal as needed. The drone survey does not identify all potential invasives since plants mature at different times of year.
