Protecting and Preserving Black Lake and the Surrounding Watershed

Black Lake Association

Located in Cheboygan and Presque Isle counties in northern Michigan, Black Lake has a surface area of 10,130 acres. It is the seventh largest inland lake in Michigan. The largest body of water in the Black River watershed, it drains through the Lower Black and Cheboygan rivers into Lake Huron. Black Lake is a summer destination for many families from the suburban Detroit area and from other nearby states as well as residents of the neighboring town of Onaway.

2024 Meeting Dates

Meetings are held the second Monday of the month at Grant Township Hall on Twin Lakes Rd, beginning at 7 p.m. Dates are as follows: May 13, June 10 (Potluck at 6 p.m. followed by meeting at 7 p.m.), July 8, August 12, September 7 at 4 pm (Fall Picnic), September 9, and October 14.

The BLA depends entirely on the efforts of members. Beach representatives, board members and work teams are all volunteers. Join them today.

Help Keep Black Lake Clean

Our lake is priceless. Please help keep it by eliminating soaps, fertilizers and other chemicals near the lake. Also be sure to properly maintain your septic system.
